Judge Judy has an estimated net worth of $150 million dollars. Judge Judy was born Judith Susan Blum on October 21, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York. She was raised  by her Jewish parents Murray Blum and Ethel Silverman. Judy was a daddy’s girl, she once stated that her father was “the greatest thing since sliced bread. ” Judy attended James Madison High School in Brooklyn before she enrolled  into American University in the Washington,DC. Judy majored in Government while she attended American University. She graduated in1963 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Government. Judge Judy is five feet and one inch tall and her weight is unknown.

Judy immediately enrolled into American University’s Washington college of Law where she was the only female  in a class body of 126 students. She graduated in 1965 with her Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School in New York City. Judy began working as a corporate lawyer for a cosmetics company. Unfortunately for her, she wasn’t impressed with the job and she quit to spend time raising her two young children. A friend later made Judy aware of a position as a prosecutor for the New York family courts system. She took the job and began persecuting child abuse, domestic violence, and juvenile crime cases. Her  reputation as a sharp no-nonsense attorney garnered her attention from Mayor Koch who appointed her a seat as a judge for New York criminal court in 1982. Four years later Judy was promoted to the supervising judge in Manhattan family court.

In February of 1993, Judy was featured in a Los Angeles Times article which praised her as a judge working hard to make the courts work for the common good of the people. This article was later followed up  by CBS program 60 Minutes in which they spotlightted  her career. Afterwards, an agent contacted Judy about possibly doing a courtroom reality television show with real people and real cases. Judy jumped on the offer. Judge Judy aired for the first time in September of 0f 1996. The show rapidly gained viewership and show ratings have been through the roof ever since. Judge Judy is the highest paid television personality, earning $45 million annually for her show.
