Steven Howse, better known by his stage name Layzie Bone, is an American rapper with an estimated net worth of $5 million. He is 5’7″ and weighs 140 pounds. Steven Howse was born on September 23, 1975 in Cleveland, Ohio.
In the 1990s Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, and later Flesh-n-Bone formed the hip-hip group B.O.N.E. EnterpriSe. In 1993 they recorded their first album Faces of Death. In hopes of signing a record deal, the group’s members repeatedly called record labels in hopes of an audition. They finally got to audition over the phone for the late rapper/producer Eazy-E. Eazy-E gave them an unfulfilled promise to call them back but never did. Through persistence, they finally got to audition for Eazy-E and he signed them to his label Ruthless Records. He names them Thugs-n-Harmony but the group wanted to keep the “Bone” aspect so they renamed themselves Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
Some of the group’s biggest singles have been “1st of tha Month”, “Thuggish Ruggish Bone”, and a tribute to the deceased Eazy-E “Tha Crossroads”, which won a Grammy award in 1997.
In the early 2000s Layzie Bone embarked on his solo career. He has released the following solo albums: Thug by Nature (2001), The New Revolution (2006), Cleveland (2006), Startin’ from Scratch: How a Thug Was Born (2007), Thugz Nation (2008), The Definition(2011), and The Meaning (2011).
Layzie Bone is currently working on his newest album called Perfect Timing. It is slated to be released in the Spring of 2014.
