Aaron Carter is an American singer with an estimated net worth of -$2.2 million. He is 6’0″ and weighs 180 pounds. Aaron was born on December 7, 1987 in Tampa, Florida. Aaron was named after his paternal grandfather Aaron Charles Carter. He has a twin sister named Angel. Aaron Carter is the younger brother of Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys. He also has another sister named B.J. His sister Leslie died in 2012.
At the age of seven, Carter began singing in a local band called Dead End. After two years of performing with the group, Carter left because the band was singing alternative music and he yearned to sing pop. In March 1997, Aaron Carter made his solo singing debut when he covered The Jets’ “Crush on You” while opening for the Backstreet Boys. After his performance, Carter signed a record deal. Aarons’ second album Aaron’s Party (Come Get It) was released domestically on September 26, 2000. The album included hit singles like “That’s How I Beat Shaq”, “Bounce”, “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It), and “I Want Candy”. By December of 2000, his album went platinum.
In March of 2001, Carter made his acting debut opposite then-girlfriend Hilary Duff in an episode of the Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire. He also made his Broadway debut as Jojo the Who in “Seussical the Musical”.
Aaron Carter has gone on to release two more studio albums: Oh Aaron (2001) and Another Earthquake (2002). He also released three compilation albums: Most Requested Hits (2003), Come Get It: The Very Best of Aaron Carter (2006), and 2 Good 2 B True (2006). Over the course of his career, Aaron Carter has headlined six tours. He has released three DVDs in conjunction with the release of his albums Aaron’s Party and Oh Aaron. The DVDs feature live concert performances and videos.
On November 22, 2013 Aaron Carter filed a bankruptcy petition to get rid of more than $2 million in debt. He owes the Internal Revenue Service $1.3 million in back taxes from income dating back to 2003. He also owes American Express $31,166. According to his bankruptcy petition, Carter had only $60 in his wallet, $917 in his checking account,$5 in his savings account. Most of this debt was accrued while Carter was a minor and did not have control of his finances. Carter’s publicist told CNN, “This is not a negative thing….It’s actually very positive….It’s him doing what he needs to do to move forward.”
