Carol Burnett is an American actress, comedienne, singer, and writer with an estimated net worth of $25 million. She is 5’6″ and weighs 128 pounds. Carol Burnett was born on April 26, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas. After Burnett’s parents divorced in the late 1930s, she went to live with her grandmother in Hollywood, California. She graduated from Hollywood High School in 1951. Burnett aspired to become a playwright so she studied theatre and English at the University of California, Los Angeles. She dropped out of college early to move with her boyfriend to New York City in order to break into the acting business.

Burnett made her first television appearance in the 1950s with a short cameo on  The Winchell-Mahoney Show. She then got a co-starring role on the sitcom Stanley. That role lasted from 1956 to 1957. In 1959 Carol Burnett became a regular cast member on the Gary Moore Show. She was also featured in a number of CBS specials.

In 1967 Carol got her own sketch comedy-variety show, The Carol Burnett Show. Carol Burnett made families across the nation laugh for 11 years with her humorous facial expressions and slap-stick comedy. After The Carol Burnett Show ended in 1978 she tried to return to television with Carol & Company (1990) and The Carol Burnett Show (1991) but neither effort took-off.

Since her hit television show, Burnett has appeared in feature films such as Pete ‘n’ Tillie (1972), The Front Page (1974), Annie (1982), Noises Off (1992) and Post Grad(2009), and provided her voice for movies like The Trumpet of the Swan (2001) and Horton Hears a Who!(2008). She has also performed in some Broadway productions including, “Moon Over Buffalo”, ‘Putting It Together”, and “Hollywood Arms”.

In October 2013 Carol Burnett won the comedy industry’s highest honor. She was presented with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center Honors. She has also won numerous other accolades for her talent. Carol Burnett has received  American Comedy Awards, Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, the 1980 Women in Film Crystal Award, the 2006 Presidential Medal of Freedom , and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Carol Burnett is a two-time divorcee. She married Don Saoyan in 1955 and the two split in 1962. In 1963 she married Joe Hamilton. The two parted ways in 1984 after having three daughters- Carrie, Jody, and Erin. She married Brian Miller in 2001, and the two are still together. Unfortunately in 2002, Carol’s daughter Carrie passed away from cancer. Burnett established the Carrie Hamilton Theatre in honor of her daughter. In 2013, Carol Burnett published  Carrie and Me: A Mother-Daughter Love Story, a memoir detailing Carrie’s life.
