MC Lyte’s next album Seven & Seven (1998) was a commercial failure and she left her label East West America. The rapper independently produced the album Da Undaground Heat, Vol. 1 (2003). This album contained the hit song “Ride Wit Me” which featured Jamie Foxx. The single was so popular that it was nominated for a Grammy and BET award.

MC Lyte currently has a successful voice-over career. She voices campaigns for various corporate campaigns and became the voice for the branding of the Starz network and BET.
