Jadakiss is an American rapper with an estimated net worth of $6 million. He is 5’7″ and weighs 230 pounds. Jason Philipps was born on May 22, 1975 in Yonkers, New York. By the age of 16, Jadakiss was a talented freestyle rapper. He and some of his buddies got an opportunity to travel to Florida to compete in the “Jack the Rapper Competition”. While at the event he met Dee and Wah of the Ruff Ryders, a management company. Wah and Dee invited Jadakiss to come to the Ruff Ryders’ studio to meet hip-hop acts likes DMX and battle rap.
In 1994, Jadakiss founded the hip-hop group The Warlocks, which comprised of his friends Sheek Louch and Styles P. The group signed to Bad Boy Entertainment and was renamed The LOX, which stands for Living Off Experience. During this time Jadakiss grew a tight-knit relationship with the late Biggie Smalls. The LOX’s first hit was a tribute to Biggie Smalls called “We’ll Always Love Big Poppa” following the icon’s death in 1997.
In 1998 The LOX released their first album Money, Power, Respect. Their debut album went platinum. Although they reached success, the group was unhappy with Bad Boy Records and later signed to Ruff Ryders Entertainment.
Jadakiss released his solo album Kiss Tha Game Goodbye in August 2001. The album’s most notable hits were “We Gonna Make It”, ”Knock Yourself Out” and “Put Ya Hands Up.” The album featured popular artists like Eve, Snoop Dogg, DMX, and Swizz Beatz. It did not receive rave reviews. He acknowledged the criticism, explaining that the album was created less out of inspiration and more to satisfy a contractual obligation to Bad Boy Records.
Jadakiss has gone on to release two more studio albums, Kiss of Death (2004) and The Last Kiss (2009). A few of his most notable songs off of those albums are ” U Make Me Wanna” featuring Mariah Carey, “By My Side”, “Can’t Stop Me”, “Who’s Real”, and “Why?” which became Jadakiss’ biggest hit, peaking at #11 on the Hot 100.
