Bobby V has an estimated net worth of $6 million
Bobby V, previously known as Bobby Valentino, is an American R&B singer with an estimated net worth of $6 million. He is 5’2″ and weighs 139 pounds. Robert Wilson was born on February 27, 1980 in Jackson, Mississippi but his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he was subsequently raised. Growing up, Wilson was heavily inspired by music artists like Michael Jackson, Tony! Toni! Tone!, Marvin Gaye, Jodeci, and The Isley Brothers. These artists influenced him to become an R&B singer.
Wilson joined the boy group Mista in 1996. The groups first single, “Blackberry Molasses” did well on the music charts. However the album did not fair as well as the single. After a second failed album, the group disbanded and Wilson enrolled into Clark Atlanta University to study Mass Communications. While in college, Wilson still performed on stage and recorded music. He auditioned for American Idol‘s season one, but did not make the cut.
Robert Wilson kept at reaching his R&B dreams. At this point he had about three albums worth of demos recorded. One of his demo tapes reached Puff Daddy of Bad Boy Records. Puffy passed his tape over to Atlanta rapper/music executive Ludacris. Ludacris signed Wilson to his label Disturbing Tha Peace Records (DTP). His first professional musical debut with DTP occurred in 2004 when he was featured on Ludacris’ hit single “Pimpin’ All Over the World”.
The rest is music history. Wilson initially went by the stage name Bobby Valentino, but after a lawsuit involving a British singer with the same name, Wilson changed his stage name to Bobby V. Bobby V has released 5 studio albums: Bobby Valentino (2005), Special Occasion (2007), The Rebirth (2009), Fly on the Wall (2011), and Dusk Till Dawn (2012). A few of Bobby V’s hit singles include “Slow Down”, “Tell Me”, and “Anonymous”.
