Daniels’ 2009 film Precious: Based on the Novel “Push” by Sapphire won at the Sundance Film Festival and plenty more accolades. Daniles has said that he felt compelled to bring the story of child abuse to the forefront to help heal the emotional scarring from his abusive relationship with his father.
