Dave Chappelle has an estimated net worth of $30 million dollars

Dave Chappelle is an American comedian, television/film producer, screenwriter, and actor with an estimated net worth of $30 million. Chappelle is best known for his Comedy Central sketch comedy show, Chapelle’s Show. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 175 pounds. David Khari Webber Chappelle was born on August 24, 1973 in Washington, D.C. Chappelle is the youngest of three children to parents who were college professors. During Chappelle’s childhood years, his parents were politically involved and their home was rife with intellectual discourse. After his parents separated, Chappelle stayed in Washington, D.C. with his mother while his father moved to Ohio. After graduating high school in 1991, he moved to New York City to pursue a career as a comedian.

Chappelle’s career started with a thud as he was booed off the stage at the Apollo Theater during amateur night but has said that the experience gave him the courage needed to be a comic. He soon became a staple of the New York City comedy circuit and parlayed that success into small roles in comedies, including Mel Brooks’ Robin Hood: Men in Tights when he was only 19. Chappelle turned down the role of “Bubba” in Forrest Gump, believing the role was demeaning. He would flirt with fame and success several more times, getting a short-live sit-com, Buddies, and filming  another pilot to no avail. He would, however, get a role in Eddie Murphy’s 1996 film The Nutty Professor and Con Air in 1997. The following year he would get his own HBO Comedy Half-Hour special, followed by more television and movie work, including the 1998 cult-hit Half Baked, which he co-wrote.

Chappelle would jump to national and international fame starting in 2003 with the debut of his weekly sketch comedy show, Chappelle’s Show, on Comedy Central. After two years of incredible success – and reportedly being offered a $55 million contract extension – Chappelle unexpectedly quit during filming of the third season in 2005 and left for South Africa. The reasons for his departure have been much discussed although he later said he was unhappy with the direction the show had gone in. After his return, Chappelle has made a number of stand-up appearances and released a documentary Dave Chappelle’s Block Party. He is married and has three children.
