Candy Spelling has an estimated net worth of $600 million

Candy Spelling is an American author, television personality, and philanthropist with an estimated net worth of $600 million. Carole Gene Marer was born in Beverly Hills, California to Augusta and Merritt Marer. She grew up in a wealthy Jewish family. In her younger years Candy was involved in plenty of activities. She was the exemplary student in her school’s sewing and cooking classes. Candy was also a cheerleader and model.

In 1968 she married Hollywood super-producer Aaron Spelling. The couple had two children together: Randy Gene Spelling and Victoria “Tori” Spelling. Candy’s children appeared in a number of her husband’s productions, one in particular, Beverly Hills, 90210.

Candy and Aaron Spelling completed building Spelling Manor in 1988. The 56,500 sq./ft. estate houses 123 rooms: 14 bedrooms, seventeen bathrooms, and five kitchens. Spelling Manor is reportedly the largest home in the Los Angeles metro area. Spelling helped to design the interior of the manor.

When Aaron Spelling passed away on June 23, 2006 Candy was named the estate’s executor. Mr. Spelling’s $600 million estate was to be divided mostly between Candy and her two children. Each of her children inherited $800,000.

In March 2009 Candy put Spelling Manor up for sale. The manor’s asking price was an astounding $150 million. At the time, it was the most expensive residential listing. In June 2011 British-Croatian heiress Petra Ecclestone purchased the property for $85 million.

Candy Spelling is a regular columnist for The Huffington Post. Her autobiography Stories from Candyland was published in March 2009. The autobiography was a New York Times best seller and reached number one at L.A.’s Book Soup.

As far as philanthropic work, Spelling sits on the American Humane Association’s Board of Trustees. She is devoted to advocating for animals and children in Los Angeles.
