Ulysses Bridgeman was born in East Chicago, Indiana on September 17, 1953. He attended East Chicago Washington High School. Bridgeman was an exceptional basketball player on his high school’s basketball team. In 1971 the team went undefeated with a 29-0 record. That year they won the Indiana State High School Basketball Championship.
In 1972 Bridgeman was recruited to play basketball at the University of Louisville. The 6’5″ star shifted between playing guard and forward. In the 1975 NBA Draft Junior Bridgeman was chosen as the Los Angeles Lakers 8th overall pick. He was quickly traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Bridgeman spent 12 years as a player in the NBA, mostly with the Milwaukee Bucks (1975-1984). He also played for the Los Angeles Clippers (1984-1986) and then returned back to the Bucks (1986-1987). In 1999 Junior Bridgeman was inducted into the Wisconsin Hall of Fame.
Outside of athletics, Bridgeman is a successful businessman. He owns Bridgeman Foods ,LLC. His company owns and operates over 160 Wendy’s franchises nationwide.
