Tony Stewart has an estimated net worth of $70 million dollars
Tony Stewart is an American auto racing driver with an estimated net worth of $70 million dollars. He is 5’9″ and weighs 180 pounds. Anthony Wayne Stewart was born on May 20, 1971 in Columbus, Indiana. From a very early age, Tony enjoyed racing, first in go carts – where he won a World Karting Association championship in 1987 — and progressively in more powerful racecars as he got older. He moved up to United States Midget Racing Association and again to the United States Auto Club series where won championships in the early to mid 1990s and was the only triple crown winner at the same time – midget, sprint and silver crown – in 1995.
Tony’s early successes continued to land him in bigger racing series and in 1997 he joined the Indy Racing League (IRL). He won his first race in IRL at Pikes Peak that same year and ended up winning the championship. He began gaining the attention of stock car race car owners, including Joe Gibbs, a former professional football league coach, who owned a race team. Gibbs invited Tony to race for him and eventually signed him to race full time in stock car, although the racer continued to participate in other categories. Tony did well enough for Gibbs to promote him to the top category, Sprint Cars, in 1999, and he won three races in his rookie campaign and finished in 4th in the final championship standings. That same year he became the only racer to participate in both the Coca-Cola 500 (Spring Car) and Indianapolis 500 (IRL) in the same day. He finished both races in the top 10.
After more successes in 2000 and 2001, Tony won his first Winston Cup Championship in 2002 and another in 2005. Tony is the only driver in the history of racing to win both IndyCar and Nascar championships. His aggressive racing and hot temper made him a fan favorite as he became one of the most popular race car drivers in the world. He continued racing for Gibbs until 2009, when he formed his own team, Stewart-Haas Racing. He would go on to win the Sprint NASCAR Championship a third time in 2012 and continues to be among the most successful and popular racers in the world. A multi-car crash in a sprint car race caused Tony to beak his leg in August 2013 forcing him to break his 521 consecutive NASCAR race streak and putting him out of contention for the championship that year.
