Scottie Pippen has an estimated net worth of $50 million
Scottie Pippen is a retired American professional basketball player with an estimated net worth of $50 million. Scottie Maurice Pippen was born on September 25,1965 in Hamburg, Arkansas. He is the youngest of twelve children born to Ethel and Preston Pippen. Growing up, Pippen played football and basketball. He helped lead Hamburg High School to the state playoffs. He earned all-conference honors. Despite his accolades, Pippen’s 6’1″ 150-pound frame was too petite for college recruiters. No universities offered him an athletic scholarship. As a favor to his coach, the University of Central Arkansas invited Pippen to become a student manager for the basketball team. During his freshman year he proved himself and made the team as a walk-on.
Over the next four years at the University of Central Arkansas, Pippen grew in stature to stand at 6 feet and 8 inches tall. He averaged 23.6 points and 10 rebounds per game. In the 1987 NBA Draft Scottie Pippen was selected as the Seattle Supersonics fifth overall pick. He was quickly traded to the Chicago Bulls.
At the time the Bulls were a struggling NBA franchise. After a meager rookie year, Pippen shined during the 1988-89 season. Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen became an unstoppable force and they helped the Bulls become a winning team. In 1991, Pippen and Jordan helped the Bulls win the NBA Championship. This was the first of three consecutive championship titles. Over the next seven seasons, the Bulls won a total on six championships.
In 1992, Scottie Pippen joined Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing, and other great basketball players to form the 1992 Olympic “Dream Team”. This was the first Olympic team to have all-active NBA players on its roster. They won the gold medal.
Scottie Pippen is a seven-time NBA All-Star and an eight-time NBA All-Defensive first Team member. He is considered one of the greatest defensive small forwards in NBA history. Pippen played in the NBA for seventeen years and retired after the 2003-04 season. In 2010 he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
