Mario Andretti has an estimated net worth of $100 million

Mario Andretti is a retired Italian-American racing driver with an estimated net worth of $100 million. He is 5’7″ and weighs 173 pounds. Mario Andretti and his twin brother Aldo were born on February 28, 1940 in Istria (was part of Italy but is now Motovun, Croatia). In 1948 the Andretti family moved to a refugee camp in Lucca, Italy after the Istrian exodus. They then immigrated to the United States in 1955, settling in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

At the age of five the twins were racing hand-crafted wooden cars throughout the steep hilly roads of their hometown. As teenagers Andretti’s uncle hired the twins to park cars for his garage. This is when Adretti claims he totally fell in love with cars. He got excited every time he revved up an engine.

The twins used the money they earned from working at the garage to modify a 1948 Hudson Hornet. Unbeknownst to their parents they raced the Hudson on oval dirt tracks in Nazareth. They won a couple of races. After Andretti’s brother got seriously injured, their parents were made aware of the racing. Needless to say they were not pleased.

In the mid 1960s Andretti began professionally driving in racing events like USAC stock car and NASCAR. Over the years he proved himself to be one of the most successful American drivers in the history of motor sports. Andretti has won races in Formula One, IndyCar, World Sportscar Championship, and NASCAR. He has also won races driving midget and sprint cars.

Mario Andretti is the only driver to date to ever win the Indianapolis 500, Daytona 500, and Formula One World Championship. Along with Juan Pablo Montoya, Andretti is the  only driver to win the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Formula One, and Indianapolis 500. Since Andretti won the 1978 Dutch Grand Prix, no American has won a Formula One race since.
