Jimmy Greaves has an estimated net worth of $11 million

Jimmy Greaves is a former English footballer with an estimated net worth of $11 million. He is 5’8″ and weighs 230 pounds. Greaves is one of England’s highest international goal scorers. James Peter Greaves was born on February 20, 1940 in Manor Park England. Greaves started playing football for Chelsea FC’s youth team in 1956 and would score a record 114 goals in one season. The next he was promoted to the senior squad and scored the tying goal in his debut game against Tottenham.

Greaves would go on to 132 goals for Chelsea and lead the league in scoring twice (1958-59 and 1960-61), including setting the all time single season scoring mark with the Blues. Despite his proficiency, Chelsea decided to sell Greaves after his fourth season and sent him to Italy to play with giants AC Milan. Although he scored 9 goals in 14 games, Greaves did not fit in with the squad and had trouble adjusting to life in Italy. Shortly thereafter, he was sold to Tottenham and would go on to play for 9 seasons with Spurs, becoming their all-time leading scorer – 268 goals in 381 appearances. He would finish out his senior level career with West Ham United, playing two seasons and making 40 appearances and finding the net 13 times.

Greaves also would become a fixture on the English national team, playing in both the 1962 and 1966 World Cups. Greaves was a starter on the 1966 team but hurt his shin against France and was replaced by Geoff Hurst who would go on to be one of the heroes of England’s World Cup winning squad. He finished his international career with 44 goals in 57 games and is currently third on the all-time scoring list for the national team. Since his retirement, Greaves has become a widely recognized TV personality and soccer pundit. He was married in 1958 and has four children and 12 grandchildren. He suffered a mild stroke in 2012.
