Jenson Button is a British racing driver with an estimated net worth of $85 million. He is 6′ and weighs 171 pounds. Jenson Alexander Lyons Button was born on January 19, 1980 in Frome, Somerset, England. He is the fourth child of South African-born Rallycross driver John Button. His father was well-known throughout the U.K. during the 1970s for his Colorado Beetle Volkswagen. Button’s parents divorced when he was seven and he and his siblings were brought up by his mother in Frome.

When Button was eight his father bought him his first kart. He was a natural at the sport, coming in first place at the 1989 British Super Prix. In 1991 he became the British Cadet Kart Champion after winning all 34 races. In 1997 he won the Ayrton Senna Memorial Cup, he became the youngest driver to ever win the European Super A Championship.

At the age of 18 Jenson Button progressed to car racing and joined Haywood Racing; he won the British Formula Ford Championship that year. Due to his superb racing record, Jenson won the 1998 McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver Award.

In 2000 Button joined Williams F1 Formula One team. For a couple of years he switched teams racing for Benetton (became Renault in 2002) and )BAR in 2003. In 2004 while racing for BAR he placed third in the World Drivers’ Championship. BAR was renamed to Honda during the 2006 season and that is when he won his first Grand Prix in Hungary.

Honda withdrew from the sport in 2009 and left Button without a drive for the 2008 racing season. Ross Brawn bought out the team and Button was soon driving a car with a highly competitive Mercedes engine. He won the 2009 World Drivers’ Championship at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

As of 2010 Jenson Button signed on to the McLaren team. He finished the 2011 season as runner up. Top Gear named Jenson Button one of its “Men of the Year” in 2009 and 2011.
