Donnie Wahlberg is an American singer, actor, and film producer with an estimated net worth of $20 million. Wahlberg is 5’10″ and weighs 175 pounds. Donald Edmond Wahlberg, Jr. was born August 17, 1969 in Dorchester, Massachusetts. He is the eighth on nine children born to Donald Sr. and Alma Wahlberg. When his parents divorced in 1982, Wahlberg began heading down a path of destruction. He got involved with theater, writing, and acting and used it as an outlet.

When he was 15, Wahlberg became an original member of the boy band New Kids on the Block (originally called NYNUK). The group’s first album was  a failure but they persevered with their sophomore album. Their first number one hit “Please Don’t Go Girl” was released in 1988. They then saturated the market with back to back hits like “The Right Stuff” and “I’ll Be Loving You Forever.” New Kids on the Block became 80s/early 90s heartthrobs and The Boys sold over 70 million records worldwide. The group disbanded in 1994 due to group dissention and growing out of the brand.

Donnie Wahlberg decided to transition into becoming an actor. In 1994 he was cast as a thug in the Mickey Rourke film Bullet (1996). He continued to play the “tough guy” role in Ron Howard’s thriller Ransom, where Wahlberg played a gangster who helps kidnap Mel Gibson’s son. In 1998 Wahlberg starred in the film Southie where he played a character pretty similar to himself.

One of Donnie Wahlberg’s most powerful roles to date is ironically his briefest. He appeared in M. Night Shymalan’s psychological thriller The Sixth Sense (1999) as unhinged former patient of psychiatrist Bruce Willis. His violent explosion sets up the twisty plot for the film. The Sixth Sense was a box-office hit.

In 2001 he proved his depth as an actor again when he appeared in the critically-acclaimed ten-part epic Band of Brothers, which won six Emmy awards.

Some of Donnie Wahlberg’s most recent credits include NBC’s Boomtown, Trigermen (2002), and Saw II (2005).
