Eazy-E was an American hip-hop artist with an estimated net worth of $8 million. He was 5’5” and weighed 140 pounds. Eric Lynn Wright was born on September 7, 1963 in Compton, California. His mother worked as a school administrator and his father worked as a postal worker. When Wright reached the tenth grade, he dropped out of school to join a life of crime.
He began to support himself through selling drugs. Wright made great earnings as a drug dealer but decided he could make even more money in the Los Angeles hip-hop scene. He partnered with Jerry Heller and formed Ruthless Records.
Wright started rapping under the stage name Eazy-E. They added rappers Ice Cube and Dr. Dre to the Ruthless Records roster. After Ice Cube wrote “Boyz-n-the-Hood”, Eazy-E, Dre, and Ice Cube formed the rap group, N.W.A. Later DJ Yella, Mc Ren, and Arabian Prince joined the hip-hop collective and released N.W.A. and the Posse (1987). In 1988 the group released its most controversial album to date, Straight Outta Compton. The group dropped two more albums before their disbandment: 100 Miles and Runnin’ and Niggaz4Life.
Eazy-E’s solo discography includes : Eazy-Duz-It (1988), 5150: Home 4 tha Sick (1992), It’s On 187 Killa (1993), Str8 off the Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton (1995), Impact of a Legend (2002), and Featuring…Eazy-E (2007).
On February 25, 1995 Eazy-E was admitted into Cedars Sinai Medical Center in L.A. for what he thought was asthma. He was later diagnosed with AIDS. On March 16, 1995 he made a public announcement notifying the public of his illness. Eazy-E began having sex at the age of 12, and had no idea who exposed him to the disease. On March 26, 1995 at approximately 6:35 pm (PST) the rapper passed away due to complications from AIDS. Some in the hip-hop community question the circumstances surrounding Eazy-E’s very sudden death, because they claim he was in good health shortly before his passing.
