Miguel Pimentel is an American singer-songwriter and producer with an estimated net worth of $5 million. He is 5’7″ and weighs 130 pounds. Miguel Jontel Pimentel was born on October 23, 1985 in Los Angeles, California.  As a young boy, Miguel became interested in the music in which his parents listened. He enjoyed listening to classic rock, funk, hip-hop, jazz, and old school R&B. By the time he was 5 he figured he wanted to be a dancer; but later changed to wanting to become an entertainer when he was 13. Miguel has stated that his musical influences are Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Phil Collins, David Bowie, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, and The Notorious B.I.G. among others.

After working in the studio with production company Drop Squad, they offered him a production deal in 2000. In 2004 Miguel signed a recording contract with independent record label Black Ice. He immediately started working on his first album, Young & Free. Black Ice released the single “Getcha Hands Up” with a video on BET’s 106th & Park but decided to shelve his album. Miguel parted ways with Black Ice after realizing he wanted to take his music in a different direction.

After much hard work and dedication, Miguel signed a recording contract with Jive Records in November 2007. After being signed he recorded his debut album All I Want Is You. Unfortunately it took two years for the album to be released because Black Ice sued the singer for breach of contract.

All I Want Is You was released in November 2010 and performed poorly initially, only selling 11, 000 copies. The albums next two singles “Quickie” and “Sure Thing” received plenty of airplay and charted well. All I Want Is You climbed up the music charts, peaking at No. 37 on the Billboard 200; it ultimately sold 404,000 copies in the U.S.

Miguel’s second album Kaleidoscope Dream (2012) debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and has sold 322,000 copies. Kaleidoscope Dream received lots of critical acclaim. The single “Adorn” off the album earned Miguel a Grammy Award for Best R&B Song.
