Garth Brooks has an estimated net worth of $150 million

Garth Brooks is an American country singer with an estimated net worth of $150 million. A few of his hit singles are “Shameless,” “She’s Every Woman,” and “Longneck Bottle.” Brooks is six feet tall and weighs 185 pounds. Troyal Garth Brooks was born on February 7, 1962 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Brooks was the son of an oil company draftsman and a Colleen Carroll, a country singer who was once signed to Capitol Records. His home life was rich in music as the family would hold weekly talent nights where everyone was forced to perform and where Brooks learned to play the guitar and banjo. Although he was steeped in music at home, in school he was an accomplished track and field athlete, eventually earning a scholarship to Oklahoma State University where he graduated with a degree in advertising in 1984.

While still in college, Brooks would play in bars and clubs and got his taste for a career in music, eventually moving to Nashville. He would go on to sign with Capitol Records and his early songs turned into legitimate hits, including “The Dance” and “If Tomorrow Never Comes.” His first album, Garth Brooks, in 1989 sold well but his sophomore effort, No Fences, would make Brooks a legitimate star and celebrity. In its first week-and-a-half, No Fences sold 700,000 copies, while his third album, Ropin’ the Wind in 1991, unbelievably sold 4 million before it was even released and crossed-over to mainstream success as it reached No. 1 on the Billboard pop chars.

Brooks’ career has redefined country music success as he has sold over 100 million albums and his live concerts have been just as successful, including a 1997 concert in Central Park that drew reportedly close to 1 million fans. The singer’s fame took an interesting detour in 1999 when he released an album by his alter-ego, In the Life of Chris Gaines, as an Australian grunge act. Although he announced his retirement in 2000, Brooks would return to performing later in the decade and eventually signed a lucrative 3-year contract with Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas in 2009. He continues to perform and record songs to this day. Brooks was married in 1986 and had three daughters before he was divorced in 2000. He would remarry country singer Trisha Yearwood in 2005.
