Billy Blanks is an American fitness guru and creator of the Tae Bo fitness program with an estimated net worth of $30 million. Billy Blanks was born in in Erie, Pennsylvania on September 1, 1955. He came from humble beginnings, one of fifteen children. Blanks battled dyslexia and tendon problems as a child. He did not allow his setbacks to deter him from getting involved with martial arts. By the age of fourteen, Blanks  had attained black belts in tae kwon do and was winning U.S. martial arts tournaments.

Due to his ripped physique and intimidating demeanor, Blanks was cast in many tough guy roles during the 1980s and early 1990s. He has appeared in films like Tango & Cash (1989), Driving Force (1989),  Lionheart (1990), The Last Boy Scout (1991), Talons of the Eagle (1992), and Expect No Mercy (1995).

In the 1990s Billy Blanks released his innovating workout routine Tae Bo and it became a global fitness phenomenon. His DVDs are recognized as one of the most prominent workout routines and he and has become one of the biggest selling personal fitness trainers. He currently owns and operates the Billy Blanks World Training Center in Sherman Oaks, California.

Banks is a 7-Time World Karate Champion He was inducted into the Karate Hall of Fame in 1982. In  1980, Billy Blanks was appointed captain of the U.S. Olympic Karate Team. He has won 36 gold medals in international competitions.
