But he made up for it with a record performance in week 3, when his first 3 receptions in the first quarter resulted in touchdowns, becoming only the 12th player to catch 3 touchdowns in a single quarter and the first rookie. He would go on to catch the game winning touchdown in a rivalry game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on his way to a 50 reception, 841 yard and 7 TD rookie season. His second year was even better as he almost equaled the amount of catches in his first year but improved in both yards and touchdowns. He also caught a 59-yard and 32-yard touchdowns in a playoff win against the Denver Broncos on the way to a Super Bowl XLVII win. In 2013, Smith became the Ravens’ No. 1 receiver and broke over 1,000 yards in receptions for the first time in his career. Off the field, Smith married his longtime girlfriend Chanel Williams in 2013 and they are expecting a child. Smith’s brother was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in 2012.
