Dwyane Wade is an American basketball player with an estimated net worth of $65 million dollars. He is six feet and four inches tall, and weighs 220 pounds. Dwyane Tyrone Wade Jr. was born January 17, 1982 in Chicago, Illinois. His parents seperated shortly after he was born and his mother was given full custody of Dywane and his older sister Tragil. As a single mother, she struggled to make ends meet and the family soon ended up on welfare. At the age of eight Dywane moved to a better neighborhood in Chicago to live with his father, Dwyane Wade Sr. Dwyane was able to play basketball outside because it was a safer neighborhood, and he bonded with his step-brothers and step-sisters. His father coached basketball at a local community center where Dwyane began to practice.

Dwayne attended Harold L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn, IL. He played the wide receiver position on the football team. At the same time he worked on his basketball skills so that he could earn a starting position on the basketball team. By his junior year, Dwyane grew to over six feet tall and averaged 20.7 points per game. He became the new star on the team. Although he was a star on the court, he didn’t put that much energy into his schoolwork. His grades were so underwhelming that only three colleges showed interest in recruiting the budding star.

Dwyane decided to attend Marquette University. He was ineligible to play during his freshman year due to his poor academics, but the coach allowed him to practice with the team and of course attend classes. When he became eligible to play during his sophomore year, Dwyane averaaged 17.8 points per game. That year the team had a record of 27-6, their best record in nine years. The follwoing year Wade led the team to win their first Conference USA Championship. The team went to the Final Four for the first time since 1977. Dwyane was named All-American First Team by the Associated Press. He was the first Marquette player since 1978 to win that honor. In the 2003 NCAA Midwest Regional Final Dwyane made the fourth triple double in NCAA tournament history.

The triple double gave Dwyane lots of press and attention. He decided to not complete his senior year at Marquette and enter the 2003 NBA draft. Dwyane was chosen as the fifth overall pick for the Miami Heat.  While playing for the Heat, Wade emerged as a star player, and arguably one of the most prominent players in the NBA. Dwyane helped lead the Miami Heat to their first NBA champoinship ever in 2006 where he was named the NBA Finals MVP. Afterwards the Heat won back to back championships in 2012 and 2013 with the leadership of D-Wade..
