Brock Edward Lesnar was born on July 12, 1977 in Webster, South Dakota. Lesnar attended Webster High School and attracted the attention of college wrestling scouts when he posted a 33-0 record as a senior, although he graduated last of 54 students. After two successful years in junior college, where he won national championships, he transferred to the University of Minnesota and enjoyed almost as much success getting to the NCAA Wrestling Final in 1999 and winning the championship in 2000.

Lesnar continued to fight until 2011, but a series of injuries eventually led to his retirement, after which he agreed to rejoin professional wrestling and the WWE.
