Regina King is an American actress with an estimated net worth of $10 million. She is 5’3″ and weighs 118 pounds. Regina King was born in Los Angeles, California on January 15, 1971. She is the first child of an electrician and school teacher. At the age of eight, King’s parents divorced. Growing up in L.A., it wasn’t hard for King to get her feet wet in the Hollywood scene. In 1985, while Regina was still in high school, she got the role of Brenda Jenkins on the sitcom 227. It paid more than a part-time job working at the mall. Regina decide that acting was the path she wanted to take in life.

King was a regular cast member on 227 for five season, up until the show ended in 1990. While filming the sitcom, she dabbled in film, appearing in Scrooged (1988) and To Sleep With Anger (1990). When 227 ended in 1990, she pursued a career in film. John Singleton cast her in the urban classic film Boyz in the Hood (1991). She then co-starred alongside Tupac Shakur and Janet Jackson in Poetic Justice (1993) and Higher Learning (1995). When Hollywood figured out that she had great comedic timing, King was cast in the popular comedic film Friday (1995) and Martin Lawrence’s A Thin Line Between Love and Hate (1996).

Regina King’s breakout role was as Cuba Gooding Jr.’s wife in the the critically-acclaimed  film, Jerry McGuire (1996). She followed up with appearances in films like How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998), Enemy of the State (1998), and Mighty Joe Young (1998). In 2004, King performed in her most celebrated role as Margie Hendrix opposite Jamie Foxx in the box-office hit film, Ray (2004). Other films you may have seen the actress appear in are Down to Earth (2000), Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde (2003), Daddy Day Care (2003),  A Cinderella Story (2004), Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous (2005),  and This Christmas (2007).

In 2006, King returned to the small screen when she was cast in Fox’s drama series, 24. She also became a voice actor for the animated series, The Boondocks. In 2009, King took on the role of Detective Lydia Adams on TNT’s police drama series, Southland.
