Martin Short is a Canadian actor, comedian, writer, and producer with an estimated net worth of $25 million. He is 5’7″ and weighs 138 pounds. The youngest of five children, Martin Hayter Short was born March 26, 1950 in Ontario, Canada. After graduating from college, Martin began to pursue a career in comedy joining the Canadian improv group The Second City and starring in the group’s television show Second City Television.
In 1984, he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live, soon becoming a viewer favorite with celebrity impressions such as Katharine Hepburn and Jerry Lewis. The actor earned his most notable film performance in the 1986 comedy Three Amigos, alongside Steve Martin and Chevy Chase. In 2001, Martin successfully returned to TV starring in the Comedy Central series Primetime Glick and in subsequent roles in Arrested Development, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and the FX hit drama Damages.
As well as guest spots on the shows Hollywood Game Night and Saturday Night Live, the actor is busy working on his memoir which will chronicle his four decades in the entertainment industry. Martin supports a number of worthy causes including the Women’s Research Cancer Fund, Autism Speaks, and the Alliance for Children’s Rights, which protects the rights of abused and impoverished children throughout Los Angeles. He was married to actress Nancy Dolman from 1980 until her death in 2010. The couple has three children together.
