Jim Isray is an American professional football executive with an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion. James Isray was born in Lincolnwood, Illinois on June 13, 1959. He is the son of Chicago businessman Robert Isray and his wife Harriet. Although Isray’s father was from a Hungarian Jewish family, Isray and his siblings were raised Catholic. When he was twelve years old, Isray’s father purchased the Baltimore Colts. Jim Isray attended Loyola Academy in Willette, Illinois and Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. When he graduated high school in 1978, Isray entered Southern Methodist University. He graduated in 1982, with a degree in broadcast journalism.
After graduation, Jim Isray went on to work for his father’s organization, the Baltimore Colts. He joined the Colts’ professional staff until 1984, when he was named the organization’s Vice President and General Manager. That same year the Colts left Baltimore and moved to Indianapolis.
When Isray’s father suffered from a stroke in 1995, he assumed the roles of Senior Executive Vice President, General Manager, and COO. When Isray’s father passed away in 1997 he went through a legal battle against his step-mother for team ownership. He won the case, and at the age of 37 Isray became the youngest NFL team owner at the time. He controls 100% of the Colts’ franchise.
Over the years Jim Isray has lost a number of family members. His sister died in 1971 in a tragic car accident and his father passed away in 1997. Jim Isray’s brother who was born with a mental disability passed away in 1999. On the bright side Isray has been married to his wife Meg Coyle for 33 years. The two have three daughters, Carlie, Casey, and Kalen.
