Hillary Clinton is an American politician and former First Lady of the United States with an estimated net worth of $21.5 million. She was the 67th United States Secretary of State. Hillary served as Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. She is 5’7″ and her weight is 130 pounds. Hillary Diane Rodham was born on October 26, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. The oldest child of an affluent fabric store owner and homemaker, Hillary grew up in prosperity in a well-to-do Chicago suburb. The two were married in 1975 and Hillary would go on to become First Lady of Arkansas when her husband was elected governor in 1978 and then in 1982, 1984, 1986 and 1990.
While Clinton was in office, Hillary continued to make her own career, joining a law firm in 1977 and then as part-time chairperson of the Legal Services Corporation for President Jimmy Carter. In 1988 and 1991, The National Law Journal named her one of the 100 most powerful lawyers in America. In 1992, when Clinton was elected President of the United States, Hillary began her term as the First Lady. She suffered through controversy in the Whitewater real estate scandal as well as her husband’s infidelity in the Monica Lewinsky affair. After Clinton’s presidency, Hillary ran for and won office as U.S. Senator for New York State and easily won re-election in 2006. Two years later, she announced her intention to run for President but conceded the spot to Barack Obama when he led in the delegate vote. Soon after he was elected, President Obama nominated Hillary as Secretary of State and she has distinguished herself in the position. She is the favorite to run for the Democratic nomination ahead of the 2016 Presidential election. Bill and Hillary Clinton have one child, Chelsea, who was born in 1980.
