The Most Expensive High Heels in the World

Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin, Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent are the end all be all of the high fashion shoe game. These designers know how to make a woman look and feel like a million bucks with their innovative designs and timeless sex appeal. They make feet look sexy. Surprisingly, none of the previously mentioned designers have shoes that are more than $10,000. If you’re in the market for seriously expensive shoes look no further than designer Stuart Weitzman. His price tags are almost as high as his heels:

Stuart Weitzman Ruby Slippers: $1.6 million

These strappy Stuart Weitzman sandals were displayed in the Harrods store in London allowing shoe lovers from all over the world a chance to gawk at the gorgeous heels. The shoes are made from half a pound of platinum, 642 Burma rubies weighing in at 123.33 carats and featured a red satin insole.

 

Stuart Weitzman Tanzanite Heels: $2 million

Weitzman teamed up with high-end jeweler Eddie Le Vian to create the tremendous tanzanite heels. The sandals are made from silver leather with an encrusted ankle strap. The heels contain 185 carats of blue tanzanite, 28 carats of diamonds, and a 16-carat tanzanite pendant.

 

Stuart Weitzman Cinderella Slippers: $2.5 million

Weitzman designed these stunning sandals after Cinderella’s glass slipper. The toe and ankle strap of these shoes contain 565 diamonds set in platinum and the right show has a 5-carat amaretto diamond valued at over $1 million. Alison Krauss wore the sparkling sandals to the 2004 Oscars.

 

Stuart Weitzman Rita Hayworth Heels: $3 million

Screen legend Rita Hayworth was the inspiration for these $3 million dollar shoes. Weitzman designed the rusty satin colored heels based on a pair of Hayworth’s favorite earrings. The shoes are encrusted with sapphires, rubies, and diamonds and were almost worn by screenwriter Diablo Cody to the 2008 Oscars, but she turned them down.

 

Harry Winston’s Ruby Slippers: $3.2 million

Who else but Harry Winston could trump Stuart Weitzman for most expensive heel? Winston’s Ruby Slippers are based on the red slippers worn by Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. The shoe featured 1350 carats of rubies and 50 carats of diamonds. When you put on Winston’s Ruby Slippers you know you’re not in Kansas anymore.
