Linda Evangelista has an estimated net worth of $18 million

Linda Evangelista is a Canadian model with an estimated net worth of $18 million. She is 5’10″ and weighs 130 pounds. Linda Evangelista was born May 19, 1965 in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada. Evangelista was raised in a traditional Catholic family. She began modeling as a teen, appearing in catalogs for local department stores. When Evangelista was sixteen she got discovered at a pageant by a model scout from Elite New York Agency. She slowly began booking gigs. Her modeling career almost came to a complete stop when she was modeling in Japan. She was asked to pose nude at the shoot and she refused. The young model booked the earliest ticket back to the United States and swore off the fashion industry. After she graduated from high school, Evangelista’s mother persuaded her to give modeling a second try. She agreed with her mother .

In 1984, the model moved to New York City in hopes of reviving her modeling career. She didn’t immediately receive success. She survived as a struggling model attaining mediocre work. In 1988, photographer Peter Lindbergh advised her to cut her hair. Evangelista cut her famously long light brown tresses to a shorter bob. She cried throughout the hair cut. Initially the short hairdo did not go over well with the fashion world. She was dropped from 16 out the 20 shows she was booked to do. Everyone in the fashion world was talking about her hair and the notoriety led to the model booking more gigs than ever. Evangelista said in an interview that she had ”every Vogue cover around the world…and then people came around and decided they liked the short hair.”

Linda Evangelista has worked for the fashion houses of Chanel, John Galliano, DSquared, Prada, and many more. Evangelista was booking so many gigs that in 1990 she told Vogue, “We don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day,” ( in reference to supermodels). At the 1997 VHI Fashion and Music Awards, Evangelista was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. MTV ranked her second on its list of top models of the 1990s. In 2007, she signed a multiple-year deal with L’Oreal cosmetics.

In August of 2006, Evangelista posed pregnant for Vogue. She gave birth to her son on October 11, 2006. Initially, she refused to name the father of the baby. In June 2011, it was revealed that the father of her son was French Billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault after she filed papers for child support. The paperwork filed with the Manhattan Family Court revealed that she was seeking $46,000 in monthly child support from Pinault. After going to trial in May of 2012, the two parents decided to settle out of court for an unspecified amount.
