She took the advice of her friend and went on a handful of auditions. Tiegs landed roles on various television shows and commercials. The exposure from television and commercials helped Tiegs land the cover of Glamour magazine in 1964. She moved to New York City, the fashion capital of the world to pursue modeling further.
