Tony Horton is an American fitness guru with an estimated net worth of $10 million. He is 5’11″ and weighs 175 pounds. Anthony Horton was born in Westerly, Rhode Island on July 2, 1958. He was raised in Trumbull, Connecticut and attended the University of Rhode Island. In 1980, Horton moved to Los Angeles in hopes of becoming an actor.

He supported himself by performing stand up comedy for some years. He began working out at World Gym in Venice, California. World Gym was frequented by famous body builders like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno. Horton wanted to avoid the bulky bodybuilder look so he focused on exercise routines that encouraged flexibility, muscle building, balance, and speed.

In the early 1980s, Horton became an established personal trainer. He then founded ASH Fitness studio in Santa Monica, California. His reputation for being a great trainer spread like wildfire and he began training high-profile clients like Billy Idol, Bruce Springsteen, Usher Raymond, Tom Petty, and many more.

As his reputation as a celebrity trainer rose, more opportunities rolled in for  Horton. He began developing workout plans for fitness magazines and tailoring made-for-televison workouts for programs like the Dr. Oz Show. He then became a spokesperson for NordicTrack exercise machines.

Horton’s biggest success came in 2004, when he released the intense workout DVD P90X. The fitness program involves a rigorous workout and strict 90-day meal plan. P90X has become a bestselling fitness program with over 3 million copies having been sold as of November 2010.
