Tim Burton is an American film director, film producer, writer, and poet with an estimated net worth of $80 million. Burton is 6’0″ and weighs 192 pounds. Timothy Walter Burton was born on August 25, 1958 in Burbank, California. Burton spent most of his childhood as a loner, drawing cartoons and watching Vincent Price movies. After graduating from high school, Burton enrolled into California Institute of the Arts where he studied animation. Afterwards he got his first job working as an animator for Disney.

While at Disney he worked on films such as The Fox and the Hound (1981) and The Black Cauldron (1985). Although Disney recognized that they had creative differences, they could not deny his talent. Disney gave the green light for Burton to create two pieces. He made a short called Vincent (1982) which is about a boy who strives to be like Vincent Price. He then created Frankenweenie, which is his rendition of a Frankenstein tale. Disney deemed Frankenweenie unsuitable for children, thus it was never released.

Pee-Wee Herman believed in Burton’s talent and creativity and asked him to direct his feature debut Pee-wee’s Big Adventure (1985). The film’s box-office success was a surprise to all. This success led to Burton being given the opportunity to direct Beetlejuice (1988), which became yet another hit and solidified his name in Hollywood.

Due to his recent successes Tim Burton was entrusted with directing the expensive Batman (1989) which has become his most successful film to date. He also directed the sequel Batman Returns (1992) which was a box-office hit but Warner Bros. was reportedly unhappy with the result.

Some of Tim Burton’s other films are Edward Scissorhands (1990), Sleepy Hollow (1999), and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005).
