Barry Levinson has an estimated net worth of $150 million

Barry Levinson is an American film director, actor, screenwriter, and producer with an estimated net worth of $150 million. Levinson’s notable films are Rain Man, Good Morning Vietnam, and The Natural. He is 5’11 and weighs 192 pounds. Levinson was born on April 6, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. His father worked in a furniture and appliance business. He started out exclusively as  a writer for television, including for The Marty Feldman Comedy Machine, The Lohman and Barkley Show, The Tim Conway Show and The Carol Burnett Show in the 1970s. Levinson also had success as a screenwriter and in particular for Mel Brooks in his movies Silent Movie, High Anxiety and …And Justice for All.

After getting a foothold in show business as a writer, Levinson would move into the director’s chair and flourish. His directorial debut came in 1982’s Diner, a movie he also wrote. It was the first in a series of four films that Levinson would write and direct that dealt with his life growing up in Baltimore. Diner featured numerous young actors who would go on to become Hollywood stars, including Mickey Rourke, Kevin Bacon, Daniel Stern, Ellen Barkin and Paul Reiser. It was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Screenplay. Levinson would go on to direct a string of hits in the 1980s, including The Natural (1984), Good Morning, Vietnam (1987) and what would be his most successful film Rain Man in 1988, for which he won the Oscar for Best Director.

Levinson would be just as prolific a director in the 1990s with hits like Bugsy (1991), Disclosure (1994), Wag the Dog (1997) and Sphere (1998), and would continue to churn out movies into the first decade of the new century, although, admittedly, he hasn’t found the same success as early in his career. Levinson founded a production company that was responsible for several major films and television series, including HBO’s Oz, The Perfect Storm and Analyze That. Levinson was first married to writer Valerie Curtin from 1975 to 1982 and then to Diana Rhodes, with whom he has 2 children.
