Tracy Jamal Morgan was born on November 10, 1968 in The Bronx, New York. He grew up in Brooklyn as one of five children raised mostly by his mother. He also had his own short lived The Tracy Morgan Show (2003-2004). His small screen accolades would continue in a big way when he was made part of the cast of 30 Rock, a role he held from 2006 to 2013. He earned an Emmy nomination for his role in 2009. His success would lead to his first starring role in a major Hollywood production, Cop Out, opposite Bruce Willis in 2010. The movie was widely panned but did turn a small profit. He has continued to work steadily in movies and television – he is currently the host of Scare Tactics – and returned to his alma mater to host Saturday Night Live in 2009. He also wrote a book, I Am the New Black, in 2009. Morgan married his high school sweetheart in 1985 but divorced in 2009. They had three sons together.
