Andrew Dice Clay is an American comedian and actor with an estimated net worth of $1 million. He is the first comedian in history to sell out Madison Square Garden two nights in a row. Clay is 5’11″ and weighs 235 pounds. Andrew Clay Silverstein was born on September 29, 1957 in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in the Sheephead Bay area in a Jewish family. At the age of five Silverstein began entertaining his family with impersonations in the family’s living room. After graduating from James Madison High School Clay played drums for the Catskills in the late 1970s.

In 1978 Silverstein audition to do stand-up at the local comedy club, Pips. He started off doing comical impressions and progressed to headlining the following week as “Andrew Clay.” His impressions of John Travolta in Grease and Jerry Lewis in The Nutty Professor were a hit. He transitioned to performing sets at major Manhattan clubs like Catch a Rising Star, Dangerfield’s, and Budd Friedman’s The Improv.

In 1980 Clay moved to Los Angeles and began booking acting gigs. He made appearances on M*A*S*H and Diff’rent Strokes; he also appeared in the films Making the Grade (1984), Pretty in Pink (1986), and Casual Sex? (1988).

After working as a series regular on Crime Story from 1986-1988, Clay chose to direct his focus back on stand-up comedy. When he went back to comedy Clay focused on the character “Dice” from the film Making the Grade.

The comedian’s big break came in 1988 after performing a seven-minute set at Dangerfield’s “Nothing Goes Right” special. That night he met his agent Dennis Arfa who booked him a HBO special which led to him starring in the 1990 film The Adventures of Ford Fairlane.

Andrew Dice Clay’s comedy discography includes: Dice (1989), The Day the Laughter Dies (1990), Dice Rules (1991), 40 Too Long (1992), The Day Laughter Dies, Part II (1993), Filth (1999), and Face Down, Ass Up (2000).
