Rush Limbaugh has an estimated net worth of $350 million

Rush Limbaugh is an American radio talk show host and political commentator with an estimated net worth of $350 million. He is best known for his nationally syndicated radio show, The Rush Limbaugh Show. His radio program is the most listened to radio show airing to 15 million listeners a week. He is 5’11″and weighs 288 pounds. Rush Hudson Limbaugh III was born on January 12, 1951 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. His father was an attorney, while his grandfather was an ambassador to India under Dwight Eisenhower and his uncle a federal judge. From an early age, Limbaugh wanted to work in radio and despite resistance from his family he would dedicate most of his time to sharpening his on-air skills.

Limbaugh got his first radio gig while he was still in high school, as he worked as a deejay for a local radio station that his father co-owned. Although he would go on to attend Southeast Missouri State University in 1970 he left the school after a year to dedicate his efforts on his fledgling radio career. As one might expect considering his later years, Limbaugh struggled holding a job in radio at first as he was fired from a couple of stations for being too controversial. Eventually, Limbaugh would land in Sacramento, California where he would get his own radio show. Within a year, he was the top radio host in the market and after the Federal Communications Commission repealed the Fairness Doctrine – which called for equal time to both sides of any political argument – in 1987 Limbaugh would explode onto the national scene.

Limbaugh soon landed a job with ABC Radio Network and The Rush Limbaugh Show debuted nationally on August 1, 1988. For the next quarter century, Limbaugh would establish himself as  the most listened to radio host in the country and his role as a conservative pundit would make him one of the most important political figures in the country. His show would become the highest rated show in America and can be heard on more than 600 stations. His fame has extended beyond the radio dial, however, as he wrote a bestselling book, The Way Things Ought to Be, and even appeared as a National Football League analyst for ESPN before he resigned after stirring up controversy when talking about African-American quarterbacks. Limbaugh has consistently been simultaneously lauded by “the right” and lampooned by “the left” for his acerbic, hyperbolic and brazen opinions. He has been married four times but has no children.
