Matt Barnes is an American professional basketball player with an estimated net worth of $5 million. He is a small forward and currently plays for the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers team. Barnes is 6’7 and weighs 226 pounds. Matt Kelly Barnes was born on March 9, 1980 in Santa Clara, California. Matt attended Del Campo High School in Fair Oaks, California and distinguished himself athletically in both basketball and football, earning All-City and All-State honors in both sports and being considered one of the top two-sport athletes as a senior in 1997-1998. He attended UCLA and played four years with the Bruins becoming a standout as a junior and senior, averaging 13.5 points, 3.5 assists and over 6 rebounds in his last year.

Matt Barnes entered the NBA Draft in 2002 was selected in the second round by the Memphis Grizzlies but was immediately traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Early on, Matt struggled to catch on with a team as he was waived on a couple of occasions before making his NBA debut for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2004. It wasn’t until Matt signed with the Golden State Warriors in 2006 that he became a consistent contributor as a small forward and received significant playing time. Matt flourished coming off the bench, developing into one of the league’s most dangerous long shooting threats. With the Warriors, he refined his 3-point shooting, including tying the team’s previous record of 7 3-point field goals in a single game.  In his second year with Golden State, he was named co-captain further cementing his role with the team.

After a successful two-year stint with the Warriors, Matt signed with the Phoenix Suns in 2008 and had one of his best years as a professional, averaging over 10 points a game, 5.5 rebounds and almost 3 assists in 27 minutes per game.  He then joined the Orlando Magic in 2009 and a year later signed with the Los Angeles Lakers where he joined Kobe Bryant. Matt had two productive seasons with the Lakers before joining crosstown rivals, Los Angeles Clippers, in 2012. With the Clippers, Matt averaged a career-high 10.3 points per game and helped lead them to a Pacific Division crown in the regular season. Over his career, Matt has accumulated a wealth of tattoos, making him one of the most recognizable players in the game. Matt Barnes celebrity status skyrocketed when his fiancé, Gloria Govan, became a reality television cast member of VH1’s Basketball Wives. Matt was featured in several episodes of the hit show. The two initially called off an engagement in 2010, but were finally married in 2013. They have twin boys together.
