Greg Oden has an estimated net worth of $15 million dollars

Greg Oden is an American professional basketball player with an estimated net worth of $15 million dollars. He is 7 feet tall and weighs 284 pounds. Gregory Wayne Oden, Jr. was born January 22, 1988 in Buffalo, New York.  When Greg was nine, his family relocated to Terre Haute, Indiana where he first began playing basketball competitively in middle school. After he moved again, this time to Indianapolis, he became a force for his high school team, leading them to 3 consecutive state championships, on his way to being named the Parade Co-Player of the Year in 2005, Gatorade Player of the Year in 2005 and 2006 and a McDonald All-American. His skill and size made him a highly-recruited talent and he decided to attend Ohio State University for the 2006-2007 season.

After being sidelined with a wrist injury for the start of his freshman year, Greg flourished as a collegiate. He was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and led the Buckeyes to the NCAA Tournament Final Four and eventually the championship game. Greg had an exception performance in the title game, scoring 25 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking 4 shots. Still, his team lost to the Florida Gators and finished runner up. The skill and his obvious size made it clear that Greg was the most dominant force in college and a natural to make the jump to the pros. He decided to forego his three remaining years of eligibility and declared for the 2008 NBA Draft, where he was selected first by the Portland Trailblazers.

Greg signed a lucrative contract with the Trailblazers but his career was immediately sidetracked when he was forced to have micro-fracture surgery on his right knee in September 2007, before he had played his first NBA game. He was forced to miss the entire season and only made his debut a year later in 2008. His second year was also marred by injury as he missed large portions of the season and the following year, in 2009, he was again forced to miss most of the season after fracturing left patella. His fortunes did not improve in 2010, when he had micro-fracture surgery on his left knee and was forced to miss the entire season.  The following season, Greg suffered another setback and eventually his team decided to release him in 2012.  Earlier this year, after not playing a game in nearly three years, Greg signed with the NBA Champions Miami Heat for one year. He played in the preseason and Greg and the team agreed to proceed slowly with his recuperation.
