Eddy Anthony Curry, Jr. was born on December 5, 1982 in Harvey, Illinois. As a child Curry aspired to become a gymnast. He didn’t pick up basketball until the seventh grade when he reluctantly tried out for his middle school’s team. After entering Thornwood High School in South Holland, Illinois, Eddy Curry became considered one of the best basketball players in the nation. In 2001 he led his high school basketball team to place second in the IHSA State Playoffs. Curry was named 2001 Illinois Mr. Basketball. The basketball player signed a letter on intent to play for DePaul University but declared eligibility for the 2001 NBA Draft.

The Chicago Bulls selected Eddy Curry as its fourth overall pick. He played with the Bulls from 2001 to 2005. While playing with the Chicago Bulls in 2003, Curry became the NBA field goal percentage leader. Curry was then traded to the New York Knicks where he played from 2005 to 2010. From 2011 to 2012 Eddy curry played for the Miami Heat. He was part of the Heat’s 2012 Championship win.

He played two games with the Dallas Mavericks in 2012 before being waived to make room on the roster for Troy Murphy. Curry then went to play overseas with the  Zhejiang Golden Bulls of the Chinese Basketball Association. He played 29 games with the team where he averaged 23 points, 10.1 rebounds, and .9 assists per game. He played his last game with the Bulls on February 27, 2013, after he missed two games due to gastroenteritis.
