Allan Houston is a retired NBA player with an estimated net worth of $75 million. He is 6’6″ and weighs 205 pounds. Allan Wade Houston was born on April 20, 1971 in Louisville, Kentucky. He played basketball for Ballard High School and help the team win the 1988 Kentucky State Championship. He went on to play for the University of Tennessee where his father was the coach. He graduated in 1993 as the university’s all-time leading scorer. He was selected in the first round of the 1993 NBA Draft as the Detroit Pistons’ eleventh overall pick.
After his rookie contract expired with the Pistons in 1996, Houston signed as a free agent with the New York Knicks. He played the next nine seasons of his NBA career with the Knicks. Houston is a 2- time NBA All- Star (2000-2001) and won the Haier Shooting Stars Championship during the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend. He is one of the top 3-point shooters in NBA history.
Due to an unfortunate knee injury, Houston was forced to retire as an NBA player on October 17, 2005. Although he had not paid in the league since 2005, Houston was the second highest paid player in the league earning $20.7 million during the 2006-2007 season as he waited for his Knicks contract to expire.
Allan Houston is currently the assistant General Manager for the New York Knicks. In his spare time he hosts fundraisers at his home and helps out various charities and non-profit organizations.
