David Hasselhoff is an American actor, singer, producer, and businessman with an estimated net worth of $110 million. He is 6’4″ and weighs 225 pounds. David Michael Hasselhoff was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 17, 1952. From an early age he knew that he wanted to become an actor, so his parents enrolled him into acting, singing, and dancing lessons. Hasselhoff came alive when he was on stage, but offstage he was awkward and shy due to his tall thins frame.

Due to the nature of his father’s work, Hasselhoff’s family moved around frequently. When they settled in California, he landed a successful gig on The Young and the Restless. Although he had initially sought out to become an actor in Broadway musicals, Hasselhoff found a newfound love for television and film.

After playing Dr. Snapper Foster for six seasons on The Young and the Restless, Hasselhoff moved from daytime to primetime to star as Michael Knight on the hit NBC series Knight Rider (1982). With the success of Knight Rider, Hasselhoff gained a substantial international following. When the series ended in 1986, David Hasselhoff launched a successful music career in the European market. His 1989 smash hit “Looking for Freedom” remained at the top spot on the German music charts for eight consecutive weeks. He still performs his music around the world and has released nine albums to date.

Hasselhoff returned to NBC in 1989 to star as Mitch Buchannon on the series Baywatch. Although it received good ratings, the show was canceled after one season. He believed the series had the potential to become huge, so he acquired the rights to the show from NBC and used his personal finances to revive Baywatch in 1991. The second run of the show was much more successful and Baywatch ran in syndication for another 10 seasons. Baywatch was received well overseas and has been shown in over 140 countries around the world. According to the Guinness Book of World RecordsBaywatch is the most watched TV show in the world, with over 1.1 billion viewers.

Due to the combined royalties of his shows and other business ventures, Hasselhoof has amassed a great fortune.
